Ashtabula County Commissioner’s President Kathryn Whittington

JEFFERSON – Kathryn Whittington, President of the Ashtabula County Board of Commissioners will be a guest speaker at the 7th Annual Southeastern U.S. Regional Drug Prevention Summit in Tampa, Florida. Commissioner Whittington is honored to have the opportunity to speak at the Prevention Summit on February 19, 2019.  

The Drug Free America Foundation, Inc. is a drug prevention and policy organization committed to developing, promoting and sustaining national and international policies and laws that will reduce illegal drug use and drug addiction.  The Drug Free America Foundation, Inc. partners with other entities to organize and host this event.

Commissioner Whittington continues to build relationships across the United States in efforts to fight the drug epidemic.  She will present Rural America… Tackling the Drug Epidemic at this summit.  Commissioner Whittington will share her personal story of how this epidemic has affected her & her family, the impact on the community and on Ashtabula County’s local government and agencies.   

Commissioner Whittington was previously employed with Ashtabula County Children Services, serving the children and families of Ashtabula County for 14 years and has over 22 years of experience working with families and communities.  She was formerly the Community Service Coordinator for Ashtabula County Children Services Board and the Community Outreach Coordinator for G.O. Community Development Corporation. She also serves on various state and national committees pertaining to children and families as well as justice and public safety.

Mrs. Whittington was elected to the Board of Commissioners in November 2016 and was seated January 3, 2017 to begin her four-year term of office.
