Thank you for investing in Ashtabula County by offering lodging and other hospitality guest services to our many tourists. We sincerely appreciate your contributions to this vibrant and expanding sector of our economy. The county's lodging tax provides funding for our tourism promotion activities.

Resolution 2022-112, passed by the Ashtabula County Board of Commissioners in March 2022, requires registration of all providers of transient lodging in Ashtabula County prior to the collection of the county's 5 percent bed (lodging) tax. Resolution 2022-112
 
Are you planning to open a new lodging business in Ashtabula County? You will need to apply for a certificate of registration from the county. There is no fee to register.  Visit Ashtabula County (munirevs.com) to register today.

In an effort to modernize the collection process and make remitting, processing, and reporting lodging tax easier and more streamlined, the Commissioners purchased a lodging tax collection software (GovOS) in October of 2021. GovOS allows you as the user to log in, report and remit taxes all in one place. Our plan is to have the software up and running in April, as we begin collection for the second quarter of 2022. 

Your guests also may be required to pay a lodging tax to the village, township or city. See the table for rates and contact numbers below.

If you close the business or convert it to long-term (more than 30 days to one guest) lodging, you will need to notify the county and surrender the certificate.

Ashtabula County does take online payment of lodging tax through Certified Payment or checks can be made payable and sent to:
