Community Corrections and Rehabilitation Facility Project (CCRF)
Thank you for visiting our site to learn more about Ashtabula County’s plan in promoting law and order in Ashtabula County.
This initiative places a half percentage point modification to the county’s sales tax, currently one of the lowest in the state, on the November ballot. This has been proposed as a means to address growing crime, recidivism, and addiction crises by promoting law and order in Ashtabula County. The funds generated will be used exclusively to fund criminal and administrative justice in Ashtabula County. This includes including hiring and training additional law enforcement to serve our community, corrections officers, construction of a community corrections, rehabilitation and detention facility, and programming space to address the problems of addiction, mental illness and recidivism among those entering the county’s criminal justice system. If approved, the county’s sales tax rate would remain lower or the same as that of fifty-nine of Ohio’s eighty-eight counties’ sales tax rates.
