Quilting Contest highlighting all that Ashtabula County has to offer to be
hosted by the Board of Commissioners
JEFFERSON – The Board of Ashtabula County Commissioners is excited to kick-off an opportunity for area quilters to participate in a quilting contest. The theme for the design is to highlight an aspect of Ashtabula County and the size of the quilt ideally should be 54” by 64” in size. The quilts will be showcased at a future date for residents to see and vote for their favorite quilts. All quilts will be displayed for a period of time for all county residents to see and enjoy during the year. The quilts can be dropped off by June 16, 2023 at the Commissioners’ Office.
“We would like to make this a yearly event that will allow area quilters to display their creations while highlighting all that Ashtabula County has to offer. We encourage those who makes quilts to participate and showcase their designs of what each respective quilter wishes to highlight in our county,” commented Commissioner Kozlowski.
“With the many barn quilts around the county, this seemed like a great way to compliment them and allow locals to show their talents and quilting ability. We also hope the sound absorption will improve the acoustics in our meeting room,” stated J.P. Ducro
“Quilting contests are an opportunity to showcase unique designs and creative artistic talents. We are looking forward to the visual and colorful way that quilters will highlight our county while promoting the art of quilting,” commented Commissioner Whittington.
For those wishing to participate they can drop of quilts beginning November 14th, 2022 through June 16, 2023 at the offices of the Board of County Commissioners located at the Old Courthouse, 2nd Floor, 25 W.
