What are the consequences of not paying my taxes?
Taxes are a lien on your property and could inhibit your attempt to sell your property. 60 days after taxes are certified delinquent, a foreclosure action may be filed by the Treasurer through the Prosecutor's office which may result in a Sheriff's sale of your property. Tax liens could be sold to a third party which would increase the amount you owe due to additional interest, fees and costs.
